DGTL Amsterdam drops tickets for 2023, announces new concept 'TRANSITIONS'

It aims to lean into a "new, purposeful direction within dance music and beyond"

DGTL Amsterdam has opened ticket sales for next year's festival, whilst simultaneously announcing its new concept to celebrate 10 years of the brand.

Entitled 'TRANSITIONS', the festival is set to return to its home at Amsterdam's NDSM Docklands on April 7, 8 and 9 2023.

The message associated with the concept is one branded "bold, visionary and clear" with DGTL leaning into its desire to carve out a fresh direction "in dance music and beyond".

The trailer sees the meeting of a digital and a human hand, signalling harmony between human and technological life. "In a world that seems in constant social, economic and environmental transition, we lie separated from the old but not yet incorporated into the new" reads its description. "It is in this space, this gap, this transitional period where endless potential for real, lasting change and exciting new discoveries lie. It is therefore in our hands, and anything is possible."

2023's announcement follows an important year for DGTL, in which it became the world's first 'circular dance festival' championing sustainability, with 2023 set to push this further by working in cooperation with the city of Amsterdam through adopting a Doughnut economics model.

DGTL is bringing back its 'Safe(r) Space(s) Project' using data and feedback collected from 2022's debut year of this in practice to push positive changes within the festival's diversity, inclusivity and community programme.
