Demi Riquísimo releases 'Perilous Joy' EP
Available via his Semi Delicious imprint, the record is an effortless blend of classic influences with more forward-thinking elements
Demi Riquísimo has released his new EP, 'Perilous Joy', via his Semi Delicious label.
In what forms the imprint's 19th outing, the five-tracker meanders through classic influences to the producer and DJ with more forward-thinking elements blended throughout, as he opts for a less peak time hitter, more tool-with-a-twist approach.

"I was slightly concerned about releasing an EP without an obvious “club banger” but was so determined to release these 5 production I’m truly happy with, tracks that for me have worked well at certain points in a set," he wrote on his Instagram. "I’ve been overwhelmed with the amazing support and always feel such freedom when releasing on my beloved Semi Delicious."
Thus far, the record has already garnered support from Moxie, Erol Alkan, Shanti Celeste, Amaliah and Chris Stussy.
Things kick off on the A-side with a pair of four-to-the-floor set tools, 'Sinewinder' and 'Direct Fix', both functional but still unique in their respective diva-like and deep, bassline-focused offerings.
Over on the flip, eponymous track 'Perilous Joy' nods to dreamy, Italian progressive house before a gentle shift into more psychedelic, deep house is introduced through 'Thyme After Time'. The EP rounds off with 'Autoglide' - packed with balearic chug, its release ideal for the summer months - slowing the pace in the most precise of manners.
