deadmau5 launches his 2017 BBC Radio 1 Residency with Maceo Plex and Pan-Pot

Deadmau5, has kicked off his 2017 BBC Radio 1 Residency with an enticing, albeit somewhat surprising debut mix which features a fuller, more underground-leaning soundtrack.

The mix is a timely arrival, as Joel Zimmerman recently took heat from unseasoned fans of the EDM act Marshmello last week when he opened for the artist and chose the less EDM route for his set, playing out Maceo Plex's 'Solar Detroit' to a confused and unappreciative crowd.

Zimmerman, despite his large-scale popularity, has always held passions for techno and alternative electronic genres, and chose to showcase his tastes in his inaugural 2017 Radio 1 installment. Artists like Maceo Plex, Pan-Pot, DkA, Lane 8 and Jon Hopkins make appearances alongside his own productions. In addition, his two-hour segment includes an exclusive Pig&Dan world premiere.
