Meanwhile, upstairs Daytimers and MAKAAN are teaming up for a protest rave as the dancefloor has been a forbidden space in Iran for more than 40 years.

Daytimers have said they will be playing “harder” sounds whilst Makaan will be playing techno.

The line-up includes, Shir.in, Ronisa, Vindya B2B Sita Shah, Anahitashamsaei, Nanzhen Yang, Mvcoko and a special guest.

The event details read: “A revolution is taking place in Iran. A revolution to free Iranians from the shackles of a dictatorship that for four decades has deprived them from living a normal life; from loving freely, dancing , and simply being. This is a revolution of bodies, a revolution to free our bodies, the bodies of womxn, queers and different ethnicities and religion. What better place to manifest this than the safe space of a dance floor?”

RSVP to ‘Daytimers x MAKAAN x United4Mahsa Women Life Freedom’ here. The event will run from 2:PM until 11:PM on December 10 at Egg.
