A new dance music-focused photo exhibition is coming to Peckham next weekend

'Dancing in Peckham' runs from May 17 to 19 at Peckham 24

A new dance music-related photo exhibition, entitled 'Dancing in Peckham', will run from May 17 to 19 at Peckham 24, a ‘short festival of contemporary photography’ that will take place during Photo London week.

According to the press release, the free exhibition will explore 'the intersection between dance, music and movement through contemporary photography, performance and video' and recognise how these forms of expression help to define different communities, ranging from London's black and queer club collectives to Derry's dance music scene during the Troubles.

Photos documenting the criminalisation of public displays of dance in areas of the Middle East and the Paradise Garage's closing party will also be exhibited.

'Dancing in Peckham' is presented by Brighton-based development agency Photoworks and will showcase work from numerous artists, including, Lotte Andersen, Marie Barrett, Amar Ediriwira, Lilian Nejatpour, Rebecca Salvadori and Bernice Mulenga (whose work is pictured above).

Check out the exhibition’s website for more information.
