Cromby announces debut on Sally C's Big Saldo's Chunkers
'House Flava' is set for release on August 1, with its eponymous lead single available now
Cromby has announced his debut on Sally C's pumping imprint Big Saldo's Chunkers, 'House Flava' EP, set for release on August 1.
To accompany the release, its eponymous lead single is available now, famed by names including Job Jobse and Bambounou. Its catchy vocal is instantly recognisable, and its hands-up energy sets a storming precedent for the four-tracker.

'Pump It' follows 'House Flava', a particularly atmospheric roller, whilst 'Free' on the flip is driven by punchy bass, hefty lashings of 303 and dreamy keys. It features Cromby's own vocal debut - on which he notes that he "...didn’t realise at the time of writing how fitting the lyrics would be for our times unfortunately."
Things close off with 'Best Not Miss', a thrilling hoover-led affair. Very much transportive to the dancefloors of Trade in the late '90s, the EP finishes as strong as it started.
"This has been a long time coming," says labelhead Sally C. "Despite our close friendship, I genuinely see Cromby as one of the most talented artists in the game. If you've been to any extended set of his, you'll get it. A true and genuine craftsman. I'm honoured to finally have the chance to release his music. This EP is nothing short of Cromby excellence and fits on the label like a glove. Cromby on Chunkers just sounds right.”
