Colour Factory and JUMBI launch grant for young creatives and musicians

Successful applicants will be given £1,000 to start their own club night

Hackney Wick venue Colour Factory and Peckham-based listening bar JUMBI have joined forces to launch a new grant for young creatives and musicians.

The Creative Legacy Grant 2024 opened yesterday, October 15, and is available to apply to until Thursday, October 31, when two successful applicants will be chosen.

Two winners will receive a £1,000 grant towards a musical endeavour, offering funding as well as hands-on mentorship and the “opportunity to curate a unique event with support from the Jumbi and Colour Factory teams.”

“Are you an emerging creative looking to take your work to new heights?” asked JUMBI and Colour Factory on Instagram yesterday. “[We’re] excited to present the Creative Legacy Grant 2024 - an initiative designed to empower young talents in the arts and events industries".

Those who apply must be under the age of 30, and should be “passionate about music, art, events, or curation”, the teams have confirmed.

The grant will provide “financial assistance to advance your creative projects”, while mentorship gives “one-on-one guidance from seasoned professionals.”

It will also give the two successful applicants a “unique chance” to design and host an event, providing “resources and backing” from both teams.

“We’re especially keen to hear from creatives based in Southwark and Hackney, but applications are open to all eligible candidates,” they said.

“Whether you’re ready to elevate your current projects or eager to bring new ideas to life, the Creative Legacy Grant 2024 could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.”
