China's Storm Festival is expanding internationally
Storm Records will also launch in partnership with Spinnin' Records
China's Storm Festival is expanding to Sydney, Australia, later this year.
It will also branch out in its country of origin, with dates in nine Chinese cities planned, including Beijing, Shanghai and Guagnzhou, up from five last year, with a Taiwan date also announced, Billboard reports.
Founder and CEO of promoter A2LiVE Eric Zho indicated to the website there were plans to expand "to the rest of the world." He also announced new label Storm Records, a partnership with Dutch juggernaut Spinnin' Records.
About 30,000 people attended Storm Shanghai, partnered with the International Music Summit Asia-Pacific, and 250,000 across all five Chinese cities, last year.
The brand is the second international giant to announce its expansion into Australia in recent months. In March, Ultra announced it would be hitting Melbourne next year, followed by dates in both Sydney and Melbourne in 2019.
