BURN Residency 2016 saw BURN energy drink embark on a quest to discover dance music’s best new talent.

After receiving over 9,000 applications from DJs spanning 26 countries, one DJ from each country was selected to attend a Bootcamp, where they attended lectures, workshop and technical master classes helmed by legendary figures such as Carl Cox, John Digweed and Luciano.

Mira Joo, Ayman Awad and Lollino were the three outstanding DJs selected from this group for 10-week Ibiza residencies, playing at the likes of Sankeys and Bora Bora, with Lollino scooping the eventual €100,000 grand prize to set him on his way to the top.

During BURN Residency, three documentaries were released profiling the art of the resident. ‘The Creator’ focuses on Carl Cox, who rose up the ranks to become the White Isle’s best-loved resident following his 15 year stint at Space.

‘The Movement’ follows the ascent of the new guard of star residents, telling the stories of Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers and Apollonia. ‘The Future’ looks ahead to the next generation with comment from BURN mentors Carl Cox, Dubfire and Uner, as well as other prominent industry figures.
