Burial reveals himself to fans and says thanks

Burial has posted a message to his fans via the Hyperdub website and has also attached a photo of himself.

The famously anonymous producer writes: "Massive thank you anyone who got my records and all producers, DJs, radio stations, labels, shops, writers and journalists... anyone who played my tunes, gave them a listen, or helped me out with it, made me want to keep going with it.

"Also shout out anyone who sent me tunes, messages, anyone I met along the way and a big shout out to anyone who supports or does independent and underground music." He says new music is on the way as well as some old tracks he's going to unearth and also bigs up his label, Hyperdub, which turns 10 this year.

It's perhaps to coincide with that anniversary that he's chosen to publicly address his fanbase. Or it could be the mounting speculation surrounding his identity, which James Blake recently joked about on BBC Radio 1 and which has also been the source of numerous internet-based rumours, one of which is that Burial is actually Four Tet.

Anyhow, his message is a little heart warmer and the selfie that he's posted is an update on that super old, hoody image that's nailed to Google Images.
