Brutalist share first single 'Strep'
Hear the first cut from LUCIANBLOMKAMP and John Hassell's collaborative EP
Melbourne producer LUCIANBLOMKAMP (pictured) and Seekae's John Hassell have shared the first track from their new Brutalist project.
Having connected while touring together recently, the two Australian artists, currently based on other sides of the world, have since put together an immersive seven-track collaborative EP, of which 'Strep' is the lead single.
Speaking of the release, Hassell said: "This track really marks the beginning of Brutalist, with the only real intention being that it should constantly evolve. 'Strep' went on to set the tone for the rest of the mixtape, and we always considered it the anchor of the release.
"We wanted to make something beautiful and unsettling at the same time; saturated and warm, yet piercing at points. Giving everything it's own space and forcing the pieces together, kind of like an improvised jigsaw puzzle."
The 'Brutalist' EP is out August 26 through Good Manners. Check out 'Strep' below.
