Brooklyn crew Momentum delivers NYC's premier after work party
The best place for a mid-week dance
As the underground scene in Brooklyn continues to expand, the longstanding Momentum crew has set an example for success by focusing on delivering raw, unwavering talent at intimate locations ideal for a long dance.
Six years ago, Momentum began simply as an outlet for like-minded individuals to congregate after work and enjoy the sounds of local and international artists. Since then it has become a local favorite known for its consistency, along with establishing the premier mid-week party dubbed Rite of Wednesdays.
Now helmed by The House Cartel, aka Capo & Zelev, the duo strive to continue to uphold the standard set by Momentum’s founders, Chris Schoedel & Matias Jofre: “We aren't the original founders of this party, but fell in love with its concept from the get-go. Its founders saw fire, energy, and raw (at the time) talent in us that they knew could only help the party.”
Each week Momentum throws down Rite of Wednesdays at TBA Brooklyn, but they also take the collective to locations around Brooklyn, most recently celebrating its six year anniversary at the popular afterhours party of Bushwick A/V.
This Thanksgiving Eve, Momentum takes over the usual home for Rite of Wednesdays with a lineup consisting of residents The House Cartel, Berny Burnz, Miami’s own Hilel & Yander, Gio Gulez and Boaz Tcherikover. Admission is free and those who attend are encouraged to indulge in complimentary small plates or bring a dish to share.
