Black Girl / White Girl announce new label, share single 'LOUI3'
The gritty, jacking record is the first from their forthcoming EP
BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL have shared their latest single, 'LOUI3', via their new label Hybrid Spasm.
Taken from their forthcoming EP, set for release later in 2023, the track is a gritty, vibrant jacking-meets-techno cut. It once more showcases the duo's genre fluidity within their work, which often centres around dedicated themes informing the musical journey experienced on each track they share.
'LOUI3' is no different, driving home concepts of unconditional love, confronting loss, and an "ongoing quest to transform emotions into inspiration and a celebration of life" to create a kaleidoscopic three minutes.

“This song comes from an emotional place," the pair explain. "In its essence, ‘LOUI3’ is about celebrating one’s life, about expressing to someone you’ve lost that you're always thinking of them, that they live in your heart, and that you are forever connected. It's an unconditional love that will endure forever — an indestructible kind of love.”
BLACK GIRL / WHITE GIRL also explain their decision to include lyricism in the single, marking their first release incorporating them into their work: "We're really proud of what we've achieved," they continue. "We want to share a piece of our authentic self with the world, and what better way than through music?"
This month [February] also sees the launch of the duo's label, Hybrid Spasm, 'LOUI3' being its debut release. It'll be a space dedicated to both their releases - sharing a decade-long journey of sound development now dubbed their "own brand of queer, vibrant techno" - whilst also operating as a safe space for queer artists such as themselves to explore their identity whilst experimenting with various techno sounds.
