Fundraiser launched to save the eyesight of Bizarre Inc’s Cameron Dante
A new mixtape from Mr Scruff, 808 State and more has been released as a fundraiser
A crowdfund to save the vision of Bizarre Inc member Cameron Dante has been launched.
Cameron Dante Operation and Recovery Appeal is live on GoFundMe, after the electronic musician went blind in one eye, with 10-20% vision remaining in the other.
Dante has suffered with the rare auto-immune disease Wegeners Granulomatosis for the past few years, now rendering him partially blind as the disease has attacked his eyesight. The Bizarre Inc star has been on chemotherapy and medication for two years.

Lyn Jigsaw-Bateman, who organised the fundraiser, said: “We are desperately trying to raise funds for corrective surgery to try and restore the sight in either one or both eyes. In addition to this Cameron has not been able to work and has lost his income.”
Since then, Manchester allies 808 State, Jon DaSilva and Mr Scruff have come together alongside Circle City’s Rob Tissera and other UK DJs to produce an exclusive mixtape. The mix will be sold on USB, with all the profits going toward the cause.
“This is an appeal to all Cameron Dante's friends, family and fans of Bizarre Inc. We are appealing to everyone to help Cameron through this difficult uncertain time to share and donate if possible.” says Lyn.

In February, a Mixcloud livestream was set up as the first of several fundraisers for Dante. DJs Jay Allen and Paul Packham came together to play a livestream party raising money for the recovery fund.
The couple are currently trying to raise €40,000 needed for the corrective surgery, which is the equivalent to 2,000 USBs. The DJ is currently being treated in Seville, Spain.
