BAMBII unveils new jungle heater, ‘One Touch’

The Toronto-based producer has also announced a run of shows across Europe this Spring

BAMBII has dropped a brand new track influenced by dancehall, jungle, and garage titled ‘One Touch’.

‘One Touch’ is BAMBII’s first new release since November’s ‘RIDE WITH ME’, which previously saw the Canadian producer fuse her Jamaican roots with sounds inspired by the bustle of Toronto.

In her latest cut, BAMBII says she wanted to give listeners the “raw feeling of dancehall” that she grew up with, “but with all the rage and chaos of the rave”.

“Years ago I was in Jamaica and was surprised to hear a jungle track blaring from someone's car that made me stop and listen,” she explained.

‘One Touch’ also pulls influence from the sounds of UK dancefloors, mashing up jungle with low, moody basslines and dancehall rhythms. “I am hugely influenced by the UK music scene,” she explains.

“I feel like it's one of the main places where Caribbean music has pushed the electronic realm at large. I am equally invested in nostalgia as much as the future and try to convey that on every track.”

In November, BAMBII announced that she’d been working alongside the likes of KAYTRANADA on the production of Kelela’s highly acclaimed new album ‘Raven’, which landed in February.

“It feels CRAZY to see my name next to people that literally inspired me to even DJ let alone make music at all,” she said on Instagram. “Black women, POC women and femmes everywhere not only belong in Dance music but we push it fucking forward.”

BAMBII also announced a run of shows set to take place across Europe this Spring. She’s due to hit Manchester, Glasgow, Amsterdam, London, Barcelona, and Berlin in the coming months, before embarking on an Australia tour this summer.
