GЯEG announces forthcoming EP, 'Jazz Net'

GЯEG has announced his new EP, 'Jazz Net'.

Set for release on April 13, the record marks his first EP since the release of 2021's 'Eau Coulée Smart City' EP which projected him into the psyche of many promoter and label globally.

'Jazz Net' is a six-tracker packed with sounds meandering through gqom, techno, dancehall, footwork and bass music, seamlessly blending genres in his trademark fashion. All are dancefloor-focused, whether that be a 90bpm track or some of the more rapid 130bpm cuts.

"I'm really happy about my new EP and especially with the mood it is expressing," GЯEG explains. "It really represents me and how I evolved in terms of rhythms and sound design. It also goes deeper in experimentations and as usual blends various musical influences such as gqom, dancehall, techno and bass music in general."

The record comprises of four originals - all written from the DJ and producer's home studio, with mixing and additional programming done in collaboration with producer and sound designer LE DOM - and two remixes of GЯEG's 2021 hit 'Dembow Tronica'.

French bass mainstay Simo Cell is on remix duty, with his two remixes offering something different by dissecting the original before injecting each with new effects whether that be vocal work, spaced out sounds or even ASMR.

Collaborator Le Dom helps take the reigns with the mixdown too, with GЯEG articulating the pair's importance in the record: "It was logical for me to work with Le Dom & Simo Cell. The two Simo Cell remixes are like an extension to the EP, as he kept the club vibe and is also experimenting with rhythm and ASMR sound... I knew that we should get him as a remixer! Le Dom on the mixing part is also phenomenal, he gives the perfect spaces to each elements so the tracks sounds powerful."

Now based in Paris, the Mauritian artist is viewed as one of the French newcomers who has risen immensely in the previous two years. Aiming to elevate electronic music outside of its classical boundaries through his unique blend of genres, 'Jazz Net' continues that intention.
