Avicii's parents will inherit their son's $25 million fortune
The EDM superstar's parents continue to keep their son's memory alive
The untimely death of Avicii (aka Tim Bergling), the Swedish DJ who pioneered the EDM revolution and died of an apparent suicide at age 28 in April of 2018, has had lasting effects on the dance music community that can still be felt to this day.
Bergling failed to leave a will before taking his life and according to Swedish law, his fortune - which amounts to over $25 million - will be inherited by his parents since he was not married nor did he father any children.
His parents have done a phenomenal job in keeping the EDM superstar's memory alive by transforming his website into the Avicii Memory Board - a forum that has served as a touching online tribute to the late DJ-producer.
Avicii's shocking death has created a conversation around mental health in electronic music that continues to this day. He was Google's second biggest trend in 2018 and soon, a controversial documentary, titled Avicii: True Stories is set to arrive on Netflix this month.
