Everything you need to know about the Avicii documentary on Netflix

Avicii: True Stories lands on Netflix on December 28

A documentary depicting the years leading up to Avicii’s death is set to arrive on Netflix this month (December 28).

Shot over a period of four years, Avicii: True Stories is a devastating look at the late DJ’s life while at the peak of his fame. It depicts the exhaustion, stress and inevitable illness that Avicii underwent as a result of life on the road, ending just six months before his tragic death in April 2018.

Director Levan Tsikurishvili, who initially released the film last October, is said to have had a deep bond with the Swedish DJ during filming, the pair having met in Stockholm two years prior to the creation of the documentary.

The film will undoubtedly succumb to controversy, given that it ends on a supposedly happy note, with Avicii sat on the beach having just retired from touring.

Avicii: True Stories is released in LA and New York on 14 and 21 December respectively, and on Netflix on December 28.
