Introspekt to release debut album ‘Moving The Center’ via Tempa
It marks the first album released on legendary dubstep label Tempa since 2016
Introspekt has announced her debut album, ‘Moving The Center’, is coming out via Tempa on June 20.
The LP will see the LA-born, New York-based DJ and producer explore the potent blend of weighty soundsystem styles, such as garage and dubstep, with more sultry sounds, like ballroom and Baltimore club, that she has honed since her emergence over the last few years.

She defines her approach as uniting transatlantic club sounds from the Black diaspora and channeling them through a Black transsexual lesbian lens, bridging genres and eras while bringing the Black, queer roots of dance music to the fore.
Speaking about the album, Introspekt says: “‘Moving The Center’ embodies an alternate perspective to that which has been dominant in dance music, particularly so-called ‘bass music’. The narrative it presents is one which throws a wrench in the seemingly common perception of dubstep as a masculinist sensibility. ‘Moving The Center’ pushes a feminine physicality to the front of the bassbins. Femmes to the front!”
It marks the first full-length release on Tempa since Horsepower Production's 'Crooks, Crime & Corruption' in 2016.
