Australia's Listen Out will be 'over two times louder' in Melbourne this year
Last year's sound was compared with listening to music on a phone in a glass
Organisers of Australia's touring Listen Out festival have said the sound will be "over two times louder" in Melbourne this year, following heavy criticism at last year's event.
Announcing 2016's dates and venues, Fuzzy Entertainment said it had worked with the local City of Port Phillip council and the volume would be increased by more than 10 decibels.
"We are also adding more speaker positions so full-volume sound covers much more of the festival area. To ensure local residents aren’t inconvenienced, we’re also adding more soundproofing," they said.
The festival, which last year hosted George Fitzgerald, Alison Wonderland and Joey Bada$$, will return to the same Catani Gardens site in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda.

Meanwhile, the Perth and Brisbane events will move to new, larger locations this year. The line-up is set to be announced soon.
