Arca to debut on XL with eponymous album

Arca has signed to XL Recordings for the release of his third album ‘Arca’, which is out on April 7 and arrives fronted with artwork from Jesse Kanda.

The 13-track, self-titled record is a violently personal outing for the Venezuelan artist. Speaking about the LP he said: “Here’s my voice and all my guts: feel free to judge it. It’s like a bullfight: you’re watching emotional violence for pleasure. So this is a character who, almost as a mockery of the transaction, goes uncomfortably deep, into self-mutilation. ‘You want gore? Here’s gore’”.

It’s the first Arca release to feature his own vocals, which can be heard on album opener ‘Piel’ below.

Arca will also play his biggest headline show to date at London’s Roundhouse on April. Tickets go on sale on February 24 via Ticketweb.
