Former choir boy Aled Jones to MC over drum'n'bass and jungle set at Bestival
This is not to be missed
If you were to guess the line-up for a 'History of Jungle & Drum 'N' Bass set, you'd think of the likes of Goldie, Fabio and Grooverider, right?
Keeping up its quirkiness, though, Bestival's got another idea. Rob Da Bank's pulled in Aled Jones to join him in The Big Top in September.
Yep, that Aled Jones. Presenter of Classic FM, host of Songs of Praise and former choir boy behind winter classic ‘Walking In The Air’ from The Snowman.
It turns out he's a lover of drum 'n' bass and secret assassin on the mic, so expect some ice cold bars as da Bank rolls out the Amen breaks on the ones and twos.
Festival founder da Bank took to Twitter and Bestival's site to announce the news: "You know it could only happen at Bestival when I say, I’m teaming up with well-known drum 'n' bass don, Aled Jones, for a jungle tear up. Standard."
Bestival confirmed the fresh news on Facebook: "Yes, this is happening. Expect an all-cannons firing History of Jungle & Drum 'N' Bass MC set, with Aled Jones Official blazing the mic as Rob da Bank reloads the classic drum n bass big guns on the old ones and twos. Undoubtedly history in the making, you don’t want to miss this one."
Let's hope the crowd reception's not too frosty in the Isle of Wight. Or should that be the Isle of White?
