Adaptations Festival makes its return for 2022

The Leeds day event is set to stretch from midday into the early hours, with plenty on offer no matter your musical taste

Leeds' Adaptations Festival is returning on October 1 for its sophomore year following a soaring debut in November 2021 which saw headliners including Afrodeutsche, HAAi and Daniel Avery take over venues Belgrave Music Hall and Headrow House.

Both venues play host once more for 2022's edition alongside House of Fu's Hello Music Lounge offering ambient Yoga sessions, and Released Records showcasing a record fair.

Headliners on the bill for the late-night slots this year include Joy Orbison, SHERELLE, Darwin and Yung Singh. Also making his debut is Moktar, with the entire line-up totalling 45 acts.

There's also a full support billing showcasing some of the north's rising names in electronic music: babyschön, Junior Simba, and Narr Radio are just some, with others involved including Kilimanjaro, TAAHLIAH and Tibasko.

"I had a wicked time at Adaptations last year as a punter so I’m really excited to be back to play in October, especially as part of a huge lineup of DJs from Leeds and further afield," babyschön said on the event.

“Last year proved to be extremely busy with it being the first edition of the festival and just out of covid restrictions but I remember around 3 hours in, I was already planning this year's event," explains Andrew Devine, organiser and resident of local promoters Natural Selection (who present the day-long affair). "It’s such a buzz to be back organising this massive party and bringing artists like Moktar to Leeds for the very first time… It’s going to be very very special!"
