A sea turtle was found entangled in $53 million worth of cocaine

An innocent sea turtle got himself caught in quite a mess somewhere in the Eastern Pacific Ocean.

The US Coast Guard encountered a peculiar sight earlier this week when they spotted a loggerhead turtle trapped in a mess of what ended up being dozens of bales of cocaine. After releasing the poor creature (it was reported that the turtle had significant chaffing from the lines on his neck and flippers), the crew seized 1,800 pounds of cocaine estimated to be worth up to $53 million.
