Celebrating a decade of LoveJuice
We profile the party collective ahead of their SmirnoffHouse set this weekend
The foundations of LoveJuice were laid a decade ago through a love of house music by George Mensah and friends. It all started in Essex and East London, throwing a weekly Sunday shindig championing artists like Prok & Fitch, Armand Van Helden and Steve Bug.
A few years on they took their party overseas, launching one of the first pool parties in Marbella, their mixture of live sax and bongos complimenting the sunshine house. The sound defined the beach club party vibe that now dominates Puerto Banus.
Appearances at Ushuaïa, Hard Rock Ibiza and We are FSTVL (where they hosted their own tent) have taken the collective to a wider audience, and while their pool and yacht parties continue to be ever-popular, increasingly you'll find their events in more industrial locations with a minimal feel.
Finally, to mark 10 years in dance music, LoveJuice Records was launched, the first release from Sammy Porter and George Mensah getting love form Danny Howard and Rinse FM. The label prides itself on classic house beats, female vocals and unpretentious good vibes: everything that LoveJuice represents.
