Bristol, Oxford and Edinburgh amongst UK cities that party the most, study shows
New research from online searches shows the cities where a night out is most in demand
A new study has revealed the top 10 UK cities where a night out is most in demand.
According to new research from Megaflatables, which analysed data from online searches, London is ranked at the top of the list with the “highest per-capita interest in partying”.
It found that more than 29,000 searches for clubs, bars, pubs, live music venues and other night-time spots are made per 100,000 residents in the capital.

Oxford follows just behind with over 27,000 searches per 100,000 residents, with the majority looking for club nights, wine bars, pubs and sports bars.
Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh also make the top five with over 22,000 searches per 100,000 for nightlife activities in each city, dominated by searches for raves, karaoke, festivals, clubbing and beer gardens.
Elsewhere, Reading, Brighton, Newcastle, Gloucester and Glasgow all rank in the top 10, while cities including York, Norwich, Liverpool, Bournemouth and Belfast follow closely behind.

"London's position as the top city for party-related searches per capita isn't surprising, given its diverse range of nightlife options,” says John Spence, Megaflatables’ Managing Director.
"The data highlights shifts in how and where people choose to celebrate. These insights provide a unique opportunity to engage with enthusiastic and energetic demographics across the UK," he continued.
Data for the study was collected from “volume data” across 50 cities in the UK, taken from Google using 44 keywords related to nightlife and social activities. Check out a visual below.
