Tresor.West is offering free entry on Saturdays through January
Part of a community-focused initiative, the Dortmund-based nightclub will be keeping the line-ups to its 'Community Nights' under wraps
Dortmund's Tresor.West is offering free entry on Saturdays this month as part of a new #SaveTheUnderground campaign.
Tresor.West's run of "Community Nights" began on January 3 and alongside free admission, features unannounced line-ups with the aim to "take things back to the underground."
In a statement posted on Instagram, the team behind the sister venue to Berlin's Tresor said it was "taking a new stance and daring a radical change experiment."

They warned that the "club is in danger" due to a reduction in footfall across the local area, quoting statistics from LINA that reveal 77% of venues in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia are facing financial difficulties.
“Instead of charging €20 for entry, we invite you to the Community Nights free of charge - going out should not be a privilege, but must remain low threshold," they write.

"Instead of bowing to the costs of the headliner DJ market, we invest in you, shine the spotlight on ambitious local DJs and crews, and appeal to renowned artists to accommodate us with fair fees."
The venue asked attendees to support its Community Nights by buying new merch, buying drinks in the venue, "bringing friends with you" and to "trust the curation of our unannounced line-ups."
