New comic book series documenting the history of Ibiza is coming out

‘We Love Ibiza’ is a visual representation of the White Isle’s evolution over 70 years

A new three-part comic book documenting the history of Ibiza is set to be released, with the first edition landing this autumn, We Love Ibiza.

The first of three comic books is due for release in October 2024 offering a visual representation of Ibiza’s evolution over the last 70 years.

Featuring the likes of Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Terry Farley, DJ Pippi, Gee Moore, Jamie Jones, and more, We Love Ibiza also highlights some of Ibiza’s most renowned clubs, including Space, Amnesia, and more.

We Love Ibiza part one looks back to the ‘Golden Oldie years’ up until 1986, while part two digs into the White Isle’s party heyday from 1987 to 2004. The final part covers Ibiza from 2005 onwards.

All three comic books feature around 150 pages each, made over the course of a year and a half. “By the time this project is complete we will have interviewed over 400 people, completed thousands of hours of research online,” reads the book’s website.

We Love Ibiza is written by Aura Gold and illustrated by Rodrigo Cardama, and is said to be the first of its kind and the “first time that this story is all in one place”.

“The history of Ibiza is like no other, what was once a poor farming island is now one of the most famous and fiercely loved places on the planet,” says the book’s creators.

“It’s an important story which needs to be told before it’s forgotten, before the experimentalists, soul seekers and risk takers who created the magic of Ibiza are no longer with us.”
