The Gaslamp Killer's upcoming Australian tour has been cancelled by promoters following allegations he raped two women in 2013.

The LA producer was booked for Melbourne New Year's Day event Let Them Eat Cake, Western Australia's Breakfast and New Zealand's Northern Bass festival, but promoters The Operatives stated cancellation was "the only option."

"(The mentioned events) have consistently advocated their festivals as safe and all inclusive spaces. Hopefully there will be some clarity on the entire case in the near future, and justice is served in truth," they posted to Facebook.

The allegations were made public late last week, leading to a statement from The Gaslamp Killer and party series Low End Theory parting ways with the artist.
