Dimitri From Paris announces 'Salsoul Mastermix' homage CD
The French producer delves deep into the label's vaults
Dimitri From Paris has announced 'Salsoul Mastermix', a 2 CD mix album paying homage to the much lauded seventies disco label Salsoul.
The repress features a DJ mix from the Salsoul catalogue on the first disc and 10 exclusive Dimitri From Paris re-edits on the second. The album was released in 2015 as a Japan-only product. Imported copies were selling for around £100 on vinyl resale site Discogs. Unsurprisingly a double LP repress for Record Store Day 2017 sold out immediate which spurred on Yerasimos' decision to repress the record.
Salsoul Records was a seminal New York label that released tracks by First Choice and Loleatta Holloway throughout the seventies and early eighties.
