Denver to receive a new three-day festival from Bonnaroo promoter
Colorado will soon be a major festival destination too
Earlier this year, murmurs about major festival promoters Superfly - responsible for Bonnaroo and Outise Lands - looking to bring a new music festival to Denver, Colorado surfaced.
Thanks to a 10-3 city council vote, the Denver community can soon look forward to a three-day festival set to take place in September thanks to a newly approved five-year agreement. It will take place on either the first or second weekend of the month at the Overland Park Golf Course.
The festival is slated to bring in a huge economic boost for the area, despite the community's concerns about noise, transportation and traffic and damage to the golf course.
Though the festival has yet to reveal pertinent details like a name or talents, the promoters originally stated that they were aiming for a Bonnaroo-style festival model diverse genres represented and a projected 30,000 to 40,000 people attending per day.
