Daft Punk and The Weeknd are in the studio together
A pop hit in the making
With a duo as elusive as Daft Punk, fans are left to grasp at straws for signs of new music.
As quiet as they might remain on the public front, the French duo seem to be working diligently on music - specifically, with The Weeknd.
In a Billboard video series called 'Hitmakers Roundtable', Wendy Goldstein, the EVP A&R for Republic Records, revealed the two major acts were set to come together for a studio session.
Responding to a question about artists they admire and hoped to one day work with, Goldstein answered: "We have a session coming up in two days with The Weeknd and Daft Punk. I've always been a massive Daft Punk fan, so this is the first time that I'm actually involved with an artist who is actually going to go work with them."
We can only hope that we'll be lucky enough to hear the results of that studio session someday. Someday soon.

Fans were quick to match the details with a Facebook post that The Weeknd recently shared of two unmistakable robot figurines.
