Barcelona's Primavera Sound doubles down on electronic music acts with a new stage
The festival's new expansion is a win for underground talents
This summer, Barcelona welcomes back Primavera Sound, a three-day long festival that highlights artists from across genres, focusing traditionally on hip-hop, rock and pop style artists for their line-ups.
For the first time this year, Primavera has shifted its focus to place a bigger spotlight on dance music acts with the newly introduced 'Primavera Bits', an extended physical space (beyond the Parc de la Pau to include the area next to the beach of the Fòrum, a natural environment of grass and palm trees just a few metres away from the Mediterranean Sea) and new stage that will host 62 acts and 18 hours of music daily.
The new addition allows for 10,000 more people to attend the festival and highlights artists like Jackmaster, Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, Avalon Emerson, Fairmont, Dixon and Âme, Ben UFO, Aurora Halal as well as live performances from Recondite, Fatima Yamaha, HVOB, KiNK and more.
