We always love covering music that's at the start of its cycle and Exploration Music is embarking on a new musical journey that we want to be a part of. At the end of last year the French imprint released a Various Artist album entitled 'Setting Forth' and now it's time for some more intriguing new electronic music.

Parisian artist Yan Kaylen has been producing music inspired by Berlin's thriving techno scene and the UK's bubbling bass movements for a while now and he's been playing it out live at clubs like Tresor, Concrete and La Machine du Moulin Rouge since 2013.

Now he presents the diverse and tempo-hopping 'City Stellar' EP which comprises of six original cuts that skirt between various different sounds with both ease and grace. It's a showcase of the different styles Kaylen can work with and we have the first spin of 'Mirage X84'.

It's the most accessible track on the record and serves up slamming broken-beats and deep, emotive melodies that are purveyed through luscious pads and dreamy synths. The track becomes wrigglier by the second half, almost Aphex-esque in nature and sets Yan Kaylen up for a strong second-half of the year.

Big ups Exploration, your account is now well and truly opened. Oh, and the artwork from Olivier Blanchin is so dope.

'City Stellar' by Yan Kaylen will be released on April 15 via Exploration Music, grab the vinyl here
