A woman has gone overboard during the Mad Decent boat party.

The Diplo-curated cruise set sail from Miami on November 11, and was planning to stop off in Mexico today before heading back to the Floridan city on November 15.

Just one day after the ship departed Miami a woman reportedly jumped overboard while it was travelling through the Yucatan Channel near Cuba.

Passengers were immediately sent back to their rooms for a headcount while emergency measures were initiated, including sending out lifeboats and contacting the US Coast and Cuban authorities.

Norwegian Cruise Lines, owner of the chartered ship, released an official statement today: "On Thursday, November 12 during a chartered cruise on Norwegian Pearl, a female guest was observed intentionally going overboard while the ship was sailing the Yucatan Channel.

"The ship's crew immediately initiated rescue measures, including deploying three rescue boats and notifying the Coast Guard and other relevant authorities. The search for the guest is ongoing. Both the ship and charter company teams are providing support to the family and all impacted guests during this difficult time."

All music has ceased and the cruise is now travelling back to the coordinates closest to where the woman was last spotted onboard.
