We got up close and personal behind the scenes at Sónar Barcelona

This year was another vintage Sónar event in Barcelona, with the festival going to new heights with their mix of established and experimental programming.

Björk made a rare appearance behind the decks rather than in front of them, Arca & Jesse Kanda electrified, Carl Craig presented his Versus Synthesizer Ensemble and Hunee and Daphni tore the house down from 5 'til 7am on a Sunday morning.

With so much going on, photographer and regular Mixmag contributor Vicky Grout was also there to capture the backstage action.

She caught the likes of Thundercat, T Q D, Soulection, Nadia Rose and Princess Nokia in glorious 35mm to give us an insight into the vibe backstage.
