Before the days of search, this is what music discovery actually looked like.

Last week, the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix made it onto BBC World News, with some archive footage of Pete Tong MBE, from Eric Powell's mix on June 11, 1995, showing just how far the broadcast has come on since the early days.

Just in case you missed the address, it means that three years before Google existed users had to manually type in 'http://www.bbcnc.org.uk/bbctv/radio1/p/tong/index.html' to access the Essential Mix website, complete with the seven forward slashes.

For something a little more recent you can re-watch Pete Tong takeover the LA Lab with Jesse Rose in March or see him solo in our Mixmag Lab from last year.
