Walker & Royce
More magic from the W&O Street Tracks camp
Waze & Odyssey have the game on lock right now. As DJs their touring schedule is manic and after a top ten chart hit with their wild reimagining of R Kelly's 'Bump & Grind', it's hardly surprising.
When they're not ripping up dancefloors though they have a keen eye for curation and W&O Street Tracks is becoming a destination for those seeking house and techno with bite in abundance.
Releases from Ejeca, Kill Frenzy, Citizenn, Lancelot and of course the W&O boys themselves have all impressed and now it's time for Walker & Royce to show us what they're made of.
The US duo have made names for themselves with EPs on Crosstown Rebels, Moda Black and Pets Recordings and their latest two tracker on W&O has had support from the likes of Paco Osuna, Anja Schneider and Maya Jane Coles...Decent.
'Gimme' is the one that's got us excited though and it doesn't mess around. There's no quiet intro or easing you into this one as fierce bass and thudding percussion slams in from the off. After two minutes, the outrageous mutant riffs that sound like Mr Oizo on acid come hurtling in and after that it's an all-out monster.
Heavy stuff from Walker & Royce.
The new Walker & Royce EP on W&O Street Tracks is out today
