'MadTech 02 Ibiza' (Madtech)
9/10
Kerri Chandler's MadTech label has brought us a plethora of hard-hitting house cuts since 2012 from people like Waze & Odyssey, Walter Ego, Mia Dora, No Artificial Colours and more.
The label is back with a new compilation (with 'Ibiza' bolted onto the title to ensure bookings for their artists for the impending season?) It includes cuts from established names like Leftwing & Kody, Cera Alba, Alexis Raphael and Max Chapman.
In true MadTech style they've unearthed some new talent in the shape of Simba, Cristoph, Black Girl/White Girl and Howson's Groove, and fresh cuts from Human Life, Bontan, Luvstuff and more.
Highlights include a hypnotic, snare-heavy 'Rupture' from Leftwing, & Kody and Cera Alba, the squelching groove of Cristoph's 'Don't Go' and Josh Butler's skipping hip-house jam, 'Captivate.' They all fit right at home with the MadTech sound and contribute to a solid album of late-night house swagger.
