WAR, the occasional offshoot of reliable hardstepping label Technique, truly lives up to its name as LA's Kronology, Ukraine's MaxNRG, Spain's Gradual and Austria's Infrasonik join the UK's North Base and good timers Erb N Dub for six tracks of pacy, tech-infused dancefloor powerblasts.

It's North Base who top the pile with a slightly more refined, technoid concoction that unhurriedly unleashes slender, rolling drums beneath the tazering synth waves. There's a touch of Commix's 'Be True' in there, too, as the bleeps echo and refract, lending a hypnotic edge to an EP that's frenetic but undeniably polished.
