Ushuaïa Ibiza staff help to tackle “huge” blaze next to nightclub
A fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday morning near the venue
Staff members at Ibiza superclub Ushuaïa helped to tackle a blaze that broke out near the venue earlier this week, Dario de Ibiza reports.
Several videos emerged online this week showing a large fire burning on the beachfront in Playa d’en Bossa, right next to Ushuaïa. The blaze reportedly broke out just after 2:AM on Tuesday, June 10.
According to Dario de Ibiza, the fire “completely destroyed” three premises in Playa d’en Bossa, including two restaurants and an establishment that was due to open this week. Noudiari reported that the third establishment was a new nightclub.

Fire department sergeant José Antonio López said that 60 apartments had to be evacuated nearby, confirming that the blaze raged on for almost seven hours until around 9:15AM, when it was fully extinguished.
No casualties were reported, though several people were treated for injuries due to smoke inhalation, and a firefighter suffered a burn wound, according to Noudiari. Ushuaïa is reportedly unaffected by the fire.
Noudiari also reported that staff from Ushuaïa helped to tackle the blaze, who were later praised by Sant Josep mayor Vicent Roig for their efforts.

Roig thanked local police, the Civil Guard, Civil Protection, and emergency services for their work, each of who “collaborated and helped with the evacuation“ and efforts to end the blaze.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. “It’s possible that it started on one of the outdoor terraces of one of the premises, we still do not know which premises or which terrace,” Lopez said (via Dario de Ibiza).
