United nations world drug report reveals Australia takes the most pills
There's a drug league table that the UK doesn't top?!
The United Nations World Drug Report has revealed that the people of Australia consume more ecstasy than any other country.
The report also shows that Aussies rank fourth in the world for cocaine consumption and seventh for cannabis. The country's demand for prescription drugs like codeine and morphine is now second only to the US.
But though it's topping the pill league table, the report reckons ecstasy consumption is actually down. "In Australia, expert opinion points to an increase in the consumption of cannabis, cocaine, hallucinogens, and solvents and inhalants, but a decline in the use of "ecstasy," it said, while also highlighting the increased popularity of designer drugs too.
The UK made a headline, with Scotland number one for cocaine use. Not surprising, as it is in our water supply.
