Underground Resistance accuse Armin Van Buuren of plagiarism

“To those who steal culture. You have been warned.”

Legendary techno collective Underground Resistance have taken to Facebook to call out trance producer Armin Van Buuren for 'stealing' their name and logo.

Van Buuren recently announced his Hï Ibiza residency titled U R With Armin Van Buuren, a Wednesday night series at the club that replaced Space this year.

Alongside the event poster, the Detroit crew wrote on Facebook: “Is there no shame? What happened to electronic creativity? What the fuck is it all about the money?? To ‘those who know’ MOVE TO CONDITION RED!!”

“To those who steal culture. You have been warned. Viva La Jaguar – 040.”

The last sentence possibly refers to the group’s battle with Sony Germany in 2000 over an authorised cover of the track ‘The Knights Of The Jaguar’ by former Underground Resistance member Rolando.

U R with Armin Van Buuren runs every Wednesday at Hï Ibiza from June 21 to September 13.
