Ukraine’s annual music festival ICKPA has been moved to Berlin and now returns as a fundraising event in the wake of the Russian invasion.

The two-day event will replace ICKPA’s annual two-day festival taking place in July, notably hosted in Kyiv. Dubbed a place to “celebrate electronic music and cultural dialogue”, ICKPA showcases both local and international talent with previous acts including Job Jobse, Nastia, and Jeff Mills.

This year, ICKPA will take place as a fundraiser event for the Ukrainian dance music scene scheduled to take place between June 25 and 26.

The two-day event’s line-up has now been revealed and includes international names such as Helena Hauff, Christian AB, and Jana Woodstock, as well as Ukrainian local talent from Udda to Ponura and Nastya Vogen.

In March, ICKPA posted an open letter from the Ukrainian electronic music scene on social media. “We, the representatives of the Ukrainian music community, are asking you to not stay aside and to fight against Russian aggression together with us,” they said.

The post urged fans to help by cancelling all cooperation with Russian artists, promoters, clubs and organisations who “do not resist the actions of their government” and to protest against the current invasion.

ICKPA is set to take place at Revier Südost’s intimate inner-club venue, RSO. First launched in 2021, the Ukrainian festival’s debut edition took place last year from July 23 - 24 in a nearby forest in Eastern Kyiv. The event was originally set up by the team behind the world-famous Tbilisi nightclub Bassiani.

For the fundraiser event, ICKPA has teamed up with music, clothes and book store Planet B who will host a pop-up stall at the event selling clothes and art. All profits made will go towards Ukraine’s electronic music community.
