TYGAPAW unveils details for sophomore album, ‘love has never been a popular movement’
The producer’s second studio record features the likes of George Riley and LSDXOXO
Jamaica-born, New York-based producer TYGAPAW has announced details for their forthcoming sophomore record, due for release next month via fabric Records.
‘love has never been a popular movement’ explores self-love and identity across eight new tracks with features from the likes of George Riley and LSDXOXO.
The record is set for release on April 21, just a little over two years since their acclaimed debut record ‘Get Free’ landed on Mexico label NAAFI.

‘love has never been a popular movement’ traverses East Coast club sounds and club-focused techno cuts, with the first release from the record ‘GLAMOUR Riddim’ featuring George Riley, released today.
The soulful new track applies George Riley’s luscious R&B vocals to a more meditative midtempo sound, exploring new ground from TYGAPAW’s previous productions.
The eight-track record introspectively looks into the producer’s own identity as a Jamaican, journeying through their trans identity, confidence, and self-love.
Speaking to i-D, the producer explained that this album is “all about the process of finding hope for more love, more depth, more tenderness, and less isolation.”

“Navigating in a world that's not centred around love is a challenge, and it's something I struggle with. But what I do have is the ability to channel those feelings of isolation into music that fills me with hope,” they added.
TYGAPAW is currently finishing the last stretch of their European tour, which will see them head to Glasgow, London, Berlin, Barcelona, Lisbon, and more over the coming weeks.
