Two men have been arrested following a "targeted" attack at Milton Keynes festival Reggae Land which left a man in critical condition.

The attack took place during the event at Milton Keynes Bowl at around 8:50PM on the evening of Sunday, August 4, Thames Valley Police reported.

The man, currently unnamed, was taken to hospital and was said to be in “critical condition” after being stabbed. He remains in hospital and is now in stable condition, the BBC reports.

Police confirmed on Sunday night that they had taken statements from witnesses, and were carrying out “forensic examinations as well as CCTV enquiries”. They believed that the attack was “targeted”, and posed no further threat to festivalgoers.

“Medical staff attended the scene and the injured man was taken to hospital with stab wounds,” Thames Valley Police said in a statement on Sunday.

Two men have now been arrested in the wake of the attack, according to the BBC. One man, 29, and a second man, 31, remain in police custody.

"We have been working very closely with the event organisers and their security team and we are conducting a thorough investigation into the incident,” said Deputy Inspector Graeme Williams.

The two men were also arrested on suspicion of public order offences and drug offences as well as links to the attack, the BBC reports.

Reggae Land festival took place over the weekend from August 3 - 4 featuring artists including Gentleman’s Dub Club, Shabba Ranks, General Levy, Popcaan, Koffee, and more.
