Twitter experiences downtime following technical fault
Users are being greeted with error message when attempting to access the social network
Social media platform Twitter has temporarily become inaccesibile for some users after suffering a technical fault.
According to downdetector.co.uk, the issue was first noted at around 8am GMT this morning; while a high of 2,517 error reports were lodged at around 1pm.
Many users trying to log in to the website have been greeted by an error page, while attempts to refresh the official Twitter app are bringing up a message stating "cannot retrieve tweets at this time. Please try again later."
Others are finding the website sporadically accessible, although are facing problems such as the search function not working.
A tweet on the company's @support account announced: "Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution."
