TSHA announces debut album 'Capricorn Sun'

Inspired by the producer and DJ's own experience as a Capricorn, the record is set to drop October 7

TSHA announces debut album 'Capricorn Sun'

Former Mixmag cover star TSHA has just announced the release of her debut album 'Capricorn Sun', set for release in October.

The 12-track LP will be TSHA's first full-legnth release on Ninja Tune, following the successful release of her 2021 EP 'OnlyL' on the same imprint.

The album news comes straight off the back of her debut fabric presents mix, a generous foray into '90s dance, UKG and techno — highlighting artists such as UNCLEKNOWS, Para, Sally C and Tom VR.

'Capricorn Sun' is set to showcase TSHA's signature blend of emotive house hooks and punchy pop, with features from Clementine Douglas, NIMMO, Mafro and Oumou Sangaré.

Much of the record is inspired by TSHA herself, being a Capricorn: “I like to identify with some of the positive characteristics of a Capricorn: the hardiness and the work ethic… but also the sensitivity,” she explains.

“Naming the album ‘Capricorn Sun’ was a good way of saying ‘this is me’”. It’s a theme that carries through the album’s creative and artwork, which features several pygmy goats that are “a visual representation of the different parts of me, like the songs on the album, represent different parts of me.”

'Capricorn Sun' will drop on LP/CD and digitally on October 7 2022.
