Nic Chagall is set to continue as a solo act under the moniker following the departure of Stefan Bossems
Cosmic Gate have announced that they will part ways after 27 years.
In a statement shared via Instagram, the German trance duo - made up of Claus Terhoeven, AKA Nic Chagall, and Bossi, AKA Stefan Bossems - confirmed that they will no longer be working as a pair, with Nic set to continue under the moniker as a solo artist.

"After 27 years together, Bossi has made the decision to step away from touring, and that step means he will be leaving Cosmic Gate entirely," their statement reads. "Nic will continue forward solo, carrying Cosmic Gate into its next phase. New music is already in motion, ready to unfold and shape what comes next."
Cosmic Gate formed in 1999, with the pair having released on labels such as Armada Music, Black Hole Recordings, and Anjunadeep over the years. The duo have also collaborated with artists including Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, and Hardwell.
In 2018, Nic Chagall was nominated for a GRAMMY Award for his remix of Gabriel and Dresden's 'Only Road' featuring Sub Teal.
"This decision comes with deep respect, gratitude, and friendship," their statement continues. "What we built together, side by side, and had the privilege to share with all of you around the world is something truly rare and beautiful, something we are most proud of," they continue.
