Todd Terry set to open new listening bar in Liverpool

Todd Terry is reportedly planning to open a new listening bar in Liverpool, according to The Echo

Set to be located inside the Tea Factory on Wood Street, close to Liverpool's Ropewalks and Bombed Out Cathedral, Freeze Hifi - named after Terry's famed imprint Freeze Records - will reportedly feature curation from the legendary New York DJ and producer.

While exact details around the launch and format of the venue have not yet been made public, Terry's partner in the venue, Andrew Duckworth, told a Liverpool Council licensing hearing that Freeze Hifi will be “about Todd, it's his thing.”

Council members have now approved a licensing application for Freeze Hifi, with the new venue being granted a 4:AM closing time, which Duckworth insisted was not due to plans to "operate as a nightclub", but to “protect the business.”

The venue is planned to launch within a building once held by Revolution Bar, which closed down in 2024. Duckworth went on to describe the new venue as “all about sound quality, not loudness, it’s not the sort of place it’s going to be”.

Mixmag has contacted representatives of Todd Terry for comment.
